How to: Reload your PRESTO card

[Music] There are three ways to load money onto your PRESTO card: in person, online, or automatically. To load your PRESTO card in person, visit one of the customer service outlets in your area. Money is immediately added to your PRESTO card. To load your card online, visit the PRESTO website and enter a payment method. Then, the central PRESTO system goes to work. The transaction is sent to all the PRESTO devices across our network, thousands of devices on buses, streetcars and at stations. These devices may communicate with the central system every few hours or sometimes once a day. Make sure your transaction is synced to all devices and your card is ready to use Your transaction is added to your card the next time you tap a PRESTO device. It can then take 24 hours for that reload to be reflected on the website. There’s another way to reload, probably the simplest way of all. Autoload and Autorenew. Autoload and Autorenew load your card automatically, so you’re always ready to ride. When you set up Autoload, you can set the amount you want to be automatically loaded to your card. When your balance falls below a certain threshold, the set amount is automatically reloaded to your card. Or, for period pass holders, Autorenew loads your card with a new pass when the old one expires. After you’ve completed the registration process, sign in to your PRESTO account to tell PRESTO what you want the minimum balance to be and set the amount of money you want the Autoload to add. For example, if you set a minimum threshold of $20 and a reload amount of $40, PRESTO checks your balance each time you use the card. When the balance falls below the threshold, the Autoload will instantly load your card with the reload amount. Passes are available for some transit agencies. To set up Autorenew for the type of pass you want, select the transit agency, the timeframe of the pass, and the type of fare. When your period pass expires, the Autorenew will automatically load a new pass and charge the amount to your chosen
credit card or bank account. Autoloads and Autorenews are added to your card instantly. There’s no wait time and you always have a positive balance. So, to get your card loaded quickly, set up Autoload or Autorenew. PRESTO. Tap into an easier commute. [Music]

  1. Do you have to wait the 24 hours if the card was purchased and loaded at a customer service outlet? would an hour or two suffice? It would be used in a station, not a bus so it seems it may communicate easier.

  2. THE 24HR WAIT FOR ONLINE RELOADS IS PREPOSTEROUS!!!! WAS THIS SYSTEM CREATED IN THE 60's?!?!?!

  3. TTC maintains its 3 decades lag in all things transit once again. No self service stations in TTC stations, they demand all personal information to add money on the web, plus Metrolink are happy to supply your details to police etc without advising me. Dream on, which is actually the only way TTC seems to function

  4. How I do select "savings" on the screen menu? It seems to highlight "chequing " with no way to move up.

  5. Advice: Don’t reload your card online. I did and as they stated it took 24 hours for it to show up. Inconvenient but fine. After it showed that I can tap my card to add my funds I did and it just showed that I had the same balance as before which was $1. 3 days later and I’m still waiting. 🤷‍♀️

  6. Wait so if I add money to my account I can immediately use my card after because when I check on the website it’s still showing my original balance

  7. Very bad system make one bus pass to travel everywhere throughout the city and suburbs for one flat fee of $4.00

  8. Am no presto fan, cause in all my years, I never ever was so embarrassed for A bus fare.I ALWAYS have my fare ready. Metro pass was immediate. Here I actually forgot to reload and I do not want to use my credit card online, when I have cash to pay. With the credit card I have to pay interest. It is really sad to see that people do not have the common sense to have things shaped out so we the consumers are not inconvenienced, much less being embarrassed for a fare on THE bus.I have to go to have this done and wait for it to be on the card. What a waste of time and not to mention money, cause I now have to pay until that is loaded on the card. Not a good system at all.In the meantime, "things " are fixed-for how long? do not know— the consumer is being penalized.

  9. DO THESE MACHINES THAT RELOAD THE CARDS TAKE CASH OR NOT….. WHAT A SHIT COMPANY AND PRODUCT THIS IS. NONE OF YOUR DAMN VIDEOS ACTUALLY SHOW PEOPLE USING YOUR CARD OR SERVICES. LIKE MOST INCOMPETENT COMPANIES TODAY, IT'S LIKE NONE OF YOU EVER USE YOUR OWN PRODUCTS AND DON'T KNOW HOW THEY MIGHT ACTUALLY BE USED BY US IN ORDER TO ANSWER THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS… CASH AT MACHINES OR NOT?!!!
It would probably cost less to show actual people using this junk instead of cartoons, and be more helpful to us at the same time.

  10. After the complete change, it's March and I got the hang of it. Doesn't take more than a minute or two now

  11. I’ve added funds a week ago and tapped my presto card multiple times and my funds still haven’t been added. Absolutely disgusting

  12. I don't know what to say, on 2 occasions I loaded up my card and after 24 the funds weren't there. I found out when I tried to tap it and got rejected. You clowns can take my money instantly but putting that money on my card is somehow complicated? The payment online offers debit but only if your bank happens to be on their list.
The morons who implemented this system should be sacked asap
