Man suing casino over $500K gambling bill

YOU’RE IN LAS VEGAS THE E WEEKEND OF THE SUPER BOWL. YOU WAKE UP THE NEXT MORNING LIGHTER TO THE TUNE OF $500,000. THAT’S WHAT MARK JOHNSTON SKAS HAPPENED TO HIM. HE SAYS HE SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOSSES BECAUSE THE CASINO SHOULD HAVE CUT HIM OFF. MR. JOHNSTON, THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE THE CASE. YOU TELL ME WHY YOU SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT YOU DID.>>WELL, MR. CUOMO. GOOD MORNING TO YOU. THE CASE IS BASICALLY ABOUT THE CASINO SERVING ME TOO MANY COCKTAILS, WHEN GAMING REGULATIONS — IT’S A DIRECT VIOLATION OF GAMING REGULATIONS TO SERVE SOMEONE WHO’S INTOXICATED.>>AND YOU’RE SAYING THEY KNEW YOU WERE INTOXICATED AND SERVED YOU ANYWAY? AND YOU’RE ALSO SAYING THEY KNEW THEY WERE DOING THIS BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO COAX YOU TO GAMBLE TOO MUCH?>>YES, SIR. >>AFTER LEAVING THE FIRST PLACE, I REALLY DON’T REMEMBER THAT. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, ONE OF THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES, A BARTENDER WHO SAT APPARENTLY WITH ME WHILE I WAS GAMBLING IS THE ONE THAT BROUGHT THIS TO MY SOMETHING AB SEE NA HAS DECIDED TO TREAT THE MARKER THAT YOU THINK IS SUSPICIOUS. >>YES, BASICALLY I HAD A CREDIT LINE AT THIS CASINO. I’VE ONLY BEEN TO THIS ONE A FEW TIME LS. I WENT THERE BECAUSE A FRIEND OF MINE GOT A JOB THERE. AND PRETTY MUCH BEGGED ME TO COME THERE. I ENDED UPCOMING THERE. I DON’T GAMBLE ON CREDIT. AT SOME POINT DURING THE NIGHT, WHILE THIS EMPLOYEE THAT WORKS FOR THEM WHO IS A BARTENDER, THEY SIMPLY DOUBLED BY CREDIT LINE WITH HIM TELLING SHOULDGOD REST. AND THEY DIDN’T DO THAT. >>IN TERMS OF WHEN YOU USUALLY HAVE TO PAY BACK THE MARKER, THERE’S A PERIOD YOU GET. YOU SAY THIS TIME THEY’RE TREATING IT DIFFERENTLY. TELL ME. >>YES. AND THAT’S ANOTHER COMPONENT TO THE STORY IS THAT THE CASINO, IN FACT, AS YOU AND I SIT HERE TODAY, THE MARKERS AREN’T EVEN DUE UNTIL MARCH 31st AT A DISCOUNTED RATE OF 20% WHICH MEANS THAT THE DEBT IS ACTUALLY $400,000. WHAT THEY DID IS THEY WENT AHEAD AND — WITH THE BEHAVIOR — SHOWING THE BEHAVIOR THEY HAD, THEY WENT AHEAD AND DEPOSITED THEM TRYING TO STEEL $100,000 FROM ME. >>YOU BELIEVE THEY TRIED TO JUMP THE GUN HERE AND THEY TRIED TO MAKE A

  1. There was once a time when 'personal responsibility' was actually a thing.

  2. Don't ever expect to be believed if you say you don't remember what happened after a night of drinking. If he'd woke up $500,000 in the positive, I doubt he would have tried to give it back.

  3. He conducts himself as if he's drunk or high now-You make the bill ….pay it- drunk or not-

  4. i worked in casinos in vegas and once we got some dumbass trying to say that they stole a big bag of money with $100,00.. we can tell they're lying..we get a lot of these guys in vegas.. drink responsibly.. stay thirsty my friends..

  5. If someone had half a million what on earth would they ever be doing in a casino? lol

  6. The case should be thrown out and he should have to pay for wearing that hideous hat.

  7. Casinos are not in the babysitting business , pay up if you too stupid to know when to stop ..

  8. Dumb ass. Too Drunk? not responsible? laughable. I might have sympathy if they had you hog tied and a feeding tube with vodka being poured down your throat. Your dumb ass brain lifted every drink to your mouth. Apparently you suck at gambling too.

  9. Be a man and pay your debts. You bet, you lost, PAY IT!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the new America people. Everyone else is responsible but you for the problems you cause…..

  10. Read the story. He's had a number of large gambling losses (stating he has lost $800k and $500k before), and admits that he can affords it. He's targeting the casino for serving a clearly drunken man more alcohol, and allowing him to take out lines of credit, both of which violates the Clark County gaming regulations. The Nevada Gaming Board is actually now investigating the Downtown Grand on whether or not it violated said gaming regulations. If you ignore the gambling aspect, then the case becomes the casino's liability in continuing to serve a clearly drunk man without stopping him, which is also another regulation. I think there may be a case here, which actually could shut down the casino with the loss of its liquor and gambling licenses. This'll be interesting to see how it unveils.

  11. (FACEPALM) What an idiot. Who gets drunk and blows half a mil at a casino. I wonder how much he spent on hookers and blow that night. I need friends like this…
    rich + drunk + irresponsible = this guy ^^

  12. Entitled crybaby drunk scumbag…. who now wants a free ride I hope this piece of shit loses this case and court costs! When I think of the millions of hardworking people out there who will never even have $5,000 to gamble in Vegas…. let alone $500,000!
I hope an air conditioner falls on this scumbags head!

  13. Gambling debt is illegitimate. They can ask you for the money but they really can’t do any else.

  14. sore loser you know the risk if your gonna gamble no one is forcing you to gamble or to drink
