Poker Night In America | Season 2, Episode 8 | The Chainsaw Stops By

From Seminal Hard Rock, in
Hollywood, Florida, this is
Poker Night in America.
Welcome to Poker Night in
I’m your host, Christ Hanson.
We’ve had a ton of fun at our
visit to Seminole Hard Rock in
Hollywood, Florida.
This facility is world class.
The staff treated us like we
were a bunch of rock stars.
The food was absolutely amazing.
And the poker, well, let’s let
the poker speak for itself.
>>[BLEEP] you guys.
>>Blinds are 25 and 50 and
Gavin Smith is
racing through his fourth
>>Been drinking all [BLEEP]
damn day.
>>And thanks for bringing us
in, Gavin.
Here’s a look at the current
chip counts.
As we’re back to poker.
>>This guy here, he’s a [BLEEP]
Why is he here in basketball
shorts and a three year old
>>Yeah, sure.
>>I think he’s here to win
It seems like he came to win
our money.
I suspect he came to
try to win our money.
>>He actually is winning all
the money so far.
>>He’s doing good at it.
>>Folded around to Jared Jaffe.
>>Gavin was asking why he was
>>I, I’m actually thoroughly
>>He actually, he should be
winning about $7,000 more.
>>Can you spell it?
>>We’re up to Gavin Smith on
the button.
We do over a 100 dollar
optional straddle out there from
Eli Elezra.
>>He’s running bad, Gavin.
He should be winning 7,000 more
than he is.
>>Cuz Matt made a bad call.
>>Cuz he had the wrong, wrong
person had the seven nine of
hearts that time.
>>They would’ve got in
three ways all in on the flop.
>>And Eli calls the extra 200
out of the straddle.
>>Heads up, with Aldridge and
>>Hey guys.
>>Flop’s Jack High with a
couple of hearts.
Aldridge pairs his jack.
>>Teach is wearing his World
Series of Poker bracelet.
Did you know he had won one?
>>Eli’s got bottom pair, pair
of sixes.
>>I’ve worn it everyday.
>>He’s wearing his World Series
of Poker, you know what I’ll
tell you what I went out with
him last night, he didn’t have
it on.
>>I did.
>>$1,000 from Aldridge as he’s
now got 2 pair.
>>He always has it when he’s
playing. He just doesn’t have it
on anyother times.
>>Well it’s not fasionable.
>>I had it on at the ah,
>>I call.
>>Elezra calls and here comes
the river.
>>I don’t think you had it on a
I think you’re lying, Teach.
>>Had the what on?
>>The World Series of Poker
>>You know he won a bracelet?
>>Well I can see it on his
>>1500 on the river and a call.
>>There’s a lot of shark people
in the world, the day Teach
won that [BLEEP] bracelet I’ll
tell you that right now?
>>And the man they call Teach.
>>Scoops our first pot of the
night that’s worth over $7,000.
>>That Teach wearing the
Was one of the worst things
ever to happen to
the North Carolina Poker
>>I gotta go first.
>>This foundation.
>>K, seriously, I’m about ready
to. I’m mad at [BLEEP] Eli for
making fun of my chip stack.
>>It’s not even worth making
fun of.
>>What do you think, for us
to do 3, 3, 3, 3 and then you
move it all in, with the,
you just want to steal the
money in the middle, right?
>>Oh, wow!
>>Get yourself some of that
>>Gavin Smith raises with
>>Gavin these just.
Careful, I don’t make any
mistakes after the flop.
>>He don’t like money.
>>Raj Vohra raises to a
thousand with a suited six
>>This is what I like about
you go against the tight ones.
You don’t give a [BLEEP].
>>Matt Russell is the straddle,
and he calls with ace 10.
Back to Gavin Smith.
>>What the [BLEEP].
>>And Gavin calls, so 3K in the
pot going to the flop.
>>Pretty sure that’s gonna
be all in this, on this
>>I have a feeling something’s
gonna be all in, yeah.
>>Here comes our flop.
A couple of aces on that flop
from Matt Russell.
Vohra’s first.
>>And he’s firing at the flop.
>>Matt you have kids?
>>Yeah I got 2 kids.
They’re almost as old as you.
>>They’re 12 and ten.
>>I’m a little past that, but
not much.
>>Mine for sure is older.
>>You [BLEEP] suck, Matt.
>>That was very humbling of
you to call there.
>>What, I didn’t think I was
going to get a fold if I shoved.
>>A king on the turn.
So Vohra is officially
drawing dead, but that doesn’t
mean his betting is dead.
He bets 2000.
He’s gotta make Matt Russell
believe that he’s got him
>>I’m just stalling.
>>Russell puts all the chips in
the middle.
>>Ace king’s good.
>>And Vohra’s cards make their
way into the middle into the
>>Pick a card, pick either one.
>>That one right there’s the
>>This one?
>>That’s the king.
>>That’s the only one you get
to see.
>>Sick read. That’s why he
didn’t believe that you were
in the Epic Poker Leauge.
>>Not only was I in it, I was
higher rank than Glantz.
>>Yeah. I was surprised I
qualified those days cuz I
didn’t play many tournaments
back then.
>>I was actually surprised you
qualified too cuz you’re on of
the [BLEEP] players in history
of poker.
>>I have no idea
how Parks Poker make you their
>>I got lucky.
Just fell into it.
If Glantz could get a deal like
he got at Parks,
you’re a lock to get something
>>I qualified for Epic Poker.
>>Yeah then you’re probably too
cheap to pay the buy in weren’t
>>Maybe Raj has a thing for
>>No, no question.
>>He calls with Queens four of
hearts on the button here.
>>Hey how did your investors do
backing you in this
tournament here, down here in
>>Oh, that sucks.
>>Eli Elezra raises to 1,425.
>>Kessler won me money at the
World Series this year.
I had percentage of him in the
>>Back to Teach Aldridge.
>>Do you think that Matt Glantz
is the is the oldest looking 43
year old man you’ve ever seen in
your life?
>>Aldridge folds.
>>Gavin how old are you?
>>And Vohra calls.
>>You look old.
>>Oh God.
>>Do I look older than Gavin?
He said no.
Gavin gave you a dirty look.
>>I would have guessed you
were like, 31.
>>I don’t, I don’t have the
time to work out like you do all
the time in that way.
So it’s like, hard for me.
>>I have all the time in the
I just don’t have the
>>Oh, the always entertaining
Gavin Smith.
>>Oh my God.
He’s such an ambassador.
>>Eli bets 1300.
>>I don’t think you’re ever
gonna get Negreanu’s spot.
>>And a call from Vohra.
>>I think it’s gone man, I
don’t think you’re getting
Negranu’s spot.
>>I don’t think so either, he
locked it up.
>>Elezra checks.
>>What if there would be some
type of accident and Negreanu
would dissapear.
>>Oh Matt would of already
off’d him by then, he would of
been gone already.
>>Matt thought that’s all he
needed to do.
>>He’s gonna pull a Tonya
Harding on Negreanu to get his
>>Matt would be in there
swinging at his knees if he
thought that’s all it took.
>>2,500 from Vohra and Elezra
will fold.
>>When you call us even I’ll go,
I’ll take his knees out.
I gotta save a couple bucks.
Times are tough.
>>Well Raj, I apologize.
Go ahead and play any two suited
cards you want my man.
Nice to see Allen Kessler
stopping by to sweat our cash
And sure enough are feature crew
shoved a camera in his face and
asked him why aren’t you playing
in the game.
>>I have never played one hand.
I’ve done with the cash in my
I play a lot mix games, and
other than Dan Heimiller I think
I play more tournaments than
This, I’d be out of my league in
this game.
I mean there’s a lot of good
notable players here.
It’s not my realm.
I, I, I like limit mix games.
>>Well Al, if you ever change
your mind and
you want to take up no limit
hold’ em, invitation’s always
Poker Night in America is being

Thanks for coming back.
Let’s get back to our cash game
and see if Allen Kessler was
Is this table too tough?
>>I just want you to double,
Double up and just go home.
Go with Allen Kessler to a
night club.
>>Well that sounds fun!
>>I’ll, I’ll pay the admission.
I’ll pay admission if they go.
>>I get a couple more
tickets if they’re gonna have
You know, a couple more of
>>Go with Allen Kessler to the
Night Club, wow I can’t think of
anything more fun.
>>Get his table at Liv tonight.
That he paid 600k for.
>>Did he really do that?
>>I don’t know the exact
number, but something like that.
>>For real?
>>For real.
>>How often does he go?
>>This was, I don’t think this
was recently, I think like, he
did it before.
>>What if he, what if
he actually has a bunk there.
>>What does that mean?
>>Like is it still like a legit
Like is that okay?
Is there any amount, is there
any amount to justify that?
>>Like if he can sleep through
it like if he had the room?
>>Give me there.
Yeah there’s an amount to
justify it.
I mean every time he goes to a
club he probably spends like
>>He doesn’t get free drinks.
>>So he pays $600K and then he
pays for his drinks as well?
>>That’s just to reserve the
>>A couple of diamonds.
A couple of fours and
an ace gives the top pair to Ken
Aldridge and a flush draw to
Jared Jaffee.
>>5k to reserve the table.
>>No they’re saying he paid
$600,000 to reserve the table
for an entire year.
And he still, and then he still
pays for bottle service.
They’re bull [BLEEP], there’s no
>>No, he, some of the clubs in
L.A., people pay between like
one and 5,000.
>>I know.
>>Just to get their table some
nights, some busy nights.
>>Yeah, but on a night, sure.
>>On a night.
>>Alright, so you got.
>>No waiting, here comes the
flush for Jaffee on the turn.
>>It’s like your two weekend
days your spending, you’re
spending $5000 each of your 2
>>Both players slow down to
the river, it’s a 7 of clubs.
>>And this is supposed to be
the number one club of Florida.
>>I don’t know who keeps
stealing my drink, but I want
>>If you had a group of guys
who get like,
six guys are gonna do that all
the time and they.
>>Well if they are going to go
all the time, then I guess.
>>I don’t think that
number’s out of line for
what the table goes for.
>>Jaffee bets 2,375.
>>You get it for free on the
You basically get for free on
the weekend and you pay the
weekend price.
>>It’s four digits.
>>Could be more expensive than
this one place that.
>>The diamond is not good.
>>It’s like really hot, like
vacation spot.
>>I got a big hand I just don’t
know if it’s big enough.
>>Aldridge a great and pretty
tight player,
I would be surprised here if he
makes the call with just a pair
of aces.
>>Left and right.
>>Can’t nobody hold you down.
>>Aldrige calls.
>>Yeah I figured.
>>I don’t care.
>>Hard to lay it down.
>>And yet another torrid love
affair story of a poker player
and Ace King suited.
It’s sad.
>>So much to steal.
100. 200. 250.
>>I don’t like $25 ante.
>>Alright looks like we have
a little bit of a change to the
dynamic of the game.
Not only do we now have a
$25 and $50 small and big
But we’ve also got a $25 ante
from every player.
>>$50’s a better ante.
>>We normally don’t see in
a cash game like this but.
>>Gavin gonna move, when Gavin
moving in now.
You got some juice to steal, you
>>Why not? Let’s put more money
in the middle.
>>Why you all got to pick on me
>>Because you’re the best
tournament player.
>>You said-
>>You still got 2,800.
>>I got 4,000.
But anyways, Eli you said, let’s
go $25 ante, I was the first
guy to throw my quarter in.
>>This one, I, I give it to
>>All right. I was the first
>>I give it to you, and you
know, they were,
they didn’t, once you said yes,
everybody was really embarrassed
to say no.
>>I mean.
You can’t, you can’t like.
>>Oh no you see the raise is
You see what I’m talking about?
>>Now the re-raise is gonna be
22 hundred.
>>44 hundred.
>>Can just call in.
>>Please find kings, just to
teach him.
>>If I find a king, I’ll teach
>>But look at the young kid
that winning 17 thousand, no, 27
>>There you go.
>>You were a little light when
you said 22 hundred.
I think the number’s gonna be
>>25 or 20?
>>Oh boy, pocket sevens here
for Vohra.
>>Don’t call him a young kid,
He’s 30 years and seven months.
>>What is the bet?
>>This young [BLEEP] kid who’s
sweating his ass off.
>>So this is raise.
First bet.
Re-raise, re-raise, and the,
this four bet.
Five bet, all in, baby.
>>In go the sevens.
>>Suited man man.
>>Oh my God.
>>I get the feeling that Eli
would have probably shoved all
his chips in
the middle if he would of had
the sevens.
>>I got an all in.
>>What’s happened?
>>He stole it from me.
>>You move al in?
>>Got an all in.
>>Oh, wow.
>>And a call.
Put them in the starting gates.
Ladies and gentlemen we’ve got
ourselves a race.
>>Oh you’re only doing 2
>>No one board, one board.
>>Whatever. Thank you.
>>And here’s the ace for Laake.
>>Oh my god.
>>Turns a seven.
Raj Vohra just threw-up in his
mouth a little bit.
>>I had pocket sevens.
>>The torrid love affair
strikes another player at our
With Ace King, this time showing
you why it can be so good.
Let’s take a look at how much
everyone’s got in front of them.
The story of the night is Mike
Laake sat down tonight with 10k
in front of him,
and has been killing it ever
When we return, we will show you
the last few hands from our time
Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood
Florida, plus a little later on,
we’ll find out who’s leaving the
Sunshine State with money or
looking for a loan.
Closed captioning is brought to
you as a public service by Poker
Night in America.
Welcome back to Poker Night in
it’s a huge cash game in the
Sunshine state tonight.
Everyone’s into this game for a
minimum of $5000 of their own
20K max buy-in.
We started the night with a
25-50 blind.
That’s still there, but
now the players have added a $25
ante from every player as well,
to sweeten the pot.
>>Why were they trying to make
people believe that the Main
Event bracelet was worth
It’s, it’s probably worth.
>>Cuz they took all of the
money they would have spent on
all the other bracelets, and
just spent it in that one
>>It’s probably worth $50,000.
>>Naw, it’s worth more than
There’s a lot of diamonds on
that thing.
>>It ain’t worth $500,000.
>>Probably not.
>>As we get late in the evening
here, you are seeing the action
>>What do you wanna bet Harris
spent less than $50,000 on it?
>>We’ve already got the $25
ante from all the players.
>>I believe that, cuz it’s like
It’s like an advertisement for
the company.
That’s where I got my watch,
from the same place that.
>>I like that watch.
>>Thank you.
>>How much did that cost?
>>Nine, not $500,000.
>>All kinds of action coming in
>>I bet you that one person at
this table going to win a
bracelet next year, even money.
>>Ken Aldridge.
>>Six players going to the
>>Even money?
>>No one right now a clear-cut
>>One of us.
You have to bet against it.
>>I don’t want to bet against
>>That’s a pretty crazy bet.
>>You’re not gonna win.
>>To bet against that.
I mean everybody.
>>But I, I can’t bet against
>>60, 60 event.
>>I would not bet against that.
>>Even, even though we’re all
gonna play that, we’re
definitely gonna win.
You’re side’s an underdog,
a hundred percent.
>>For what?
>>For one of us to win a
bracelet, next year.
>>Rap and Matt and me are gonna
play all the $10,000 event for
>>It’s crazy to bet against
>>How much do you want?
>>That somebody won.
>>Gavin is playing for sure.
>>Nine people?
>>How much do you want?
How much do you want, I’ll
>>I think it’s a crazy bet to
bet against that.
>>I bet $5000 in the dark.
>>Matt Russell raises the $2100
with his two pair.
>>You want action or not?
>>I don’t wanna bet against
>>How many, how many you gonna
play this summer?
>>If you bet against it, you’d
be a big dog.
>>No more then 24.
>>Betting against would
be a, a dog?
I think you’re wrong.
I think, I think that…
>>Think about how many
bracelets are at this table
right now, and how many years
we’ve played combined.
>>It doesn’t matter.
>>Call from Vohra brings the
turn and just like on the flop,
Vohra is still open-ended.
>>Matt Russell still ahead.
>>And we make deep tournament
all the time.
>>Right, but still.
>>I mean, so, I mean,
>>Think about it, how many
years have we all been playing.
How many bracelets have been
won, so obviously, it
has to be a dog.
>>Oh, okay.
>>You know what I’m saying?
Like, clearly, it’s a dog,
>>Interesting question of
culture at the table.
Would you bet against this
table, or with this table,
that one of them would win a
bracelet in the upcoming World
Series of Poker?
>>Ken won one, he’s wearing it.
Yeah, you won one.
>>Russell bets 2,500 and Vohra
wants to see that river.
You don’t have any right?
>>So we’re up to six in seven
>>And good thing that he
did because he
just went from open ended
straight draw to having a
>>I will take the it’s nine
>>I wouldn’t bet against it
I don’t think I don’t think that
the right money is on the.
>>I would have happily bet
against it.
>>Ok, just sh.
There’s a big bet.
>>Oh I’m sorry.
>>We didn’t see, there’s about
30 in the middle already.
>>Thank you, Eli Ellezra for
pointing out the fact that yes,
we do have a rather large pot
that has developed while
we were discussing the world
series of poker, win or not win
bet at this table.
>>God dang it.
I think this is the worst
possible turn and river.
>>I’ll tell you what.
You can take yourself out and
give me Allen Kessler and I’ll
take the nine of us.
That way you don’t have to root
against yourself.
>>But I don’t even want to root
against you guys.
I like you all. I don’t want to
root against you.
>>You, you think that the yes
is the favorite?
>>What do you want to bet?
>>Yes, yes I do.
>>You’re wrong on that.
>>Yes I do think the yes is a
>>You’re absolutely wrong.
>>It’s not even close.
You guys are so stupid.
>>You really think it’s not
even close?
>>Let’s bet.
Let’s bet 5,000.
Let’s bet 2,000.
Let’s bet, we’ll pay doing.
>>I’m sorry I started
conversation doing this hand.
>>No, no you’re good,
you’re good.
I’m just, I’m just, going
through my head.
Just give me two, 30 more
>>Take forever me and Eli
are gonna keep talking about
this bet.
>>Can I just bet on you to win
a bracelet, even money?
I’ll take everybody out.
>>Please explain to him how
much he’s wrong.
>>You really think I’m that
>>It’s all I can do is tell
him, if he doesn’t believe me.
>>Jared, I think you’re right.
I’m on your side.
>>That scares me.
>>I’m on your side.
No I’m the smart guy.
>>I call.
>>You don’t double dip like
those guys.
>>[BLEEP] damnit.
>>And our biggest pot of the
night has been scooped here
by Raj Vohra, who called Russell
all the way down to the river.
>>I can’t believe you called
the turn.
>>Well, again, you can tell
that we’re getting late in the
>>Cocktails around the table.
And now the ante went from $25
to $50 from every player.
And we’ve also got Rep Porter
with $100 straddle out there as
just not enough gamble for these
Glantz is gonna get us started
with Ace Queen.
He raised it to 400.
Aldridge calls.
>>Is that one your one or my
Teach. Is that your one or my
>>I have no idea.
>>Connector’s good enough for
Elezra to make the call.
Now, Matt Russell in the big
He calls.
And Porter calls his option out
of the straddle, so once again
six players seeing a flop
The guy who got all the betting
started is ahead going to
the flop that is Matt Glantz.
The flop is King high.
So Aldrige is now ahead with a
pair of kings.
>>Mike, look at the hands I’m
>>I just felt like yelling it.
Look at Raj, hasn’t been in a
[BLEEP] hand.
>>Good one right?
>>So Matt you fold?
>>Well, Teach bets $1,200 and
everyone is folding like laundry
behind him.
>>Call from Glantz who’s got
the gut shot straight draw.
And one over card to the board.
The turn is a queen.
>>And Aldridge is betting 2000,
back to Glantz.
>>That’s big.
>>Matt correctly lays it down.
So Ken Aldridge’s going to
win the $7200 pot to
close up our night here at

  1. that river call by Russell was just horrendous, what exactly did he think he was beating?  Raj just called with random air for two streets?  Had a big pair like QQ and randomly turned it into a bluff??  He beats so so so little there, thought it was a pretty easy fold tbh

  2. "Welcome to poker night in America."

everyone at the table is obese

  3. Only if youre a complete donk is it hard to lay down AK there, you cant beat any 4, A7, AQ, sevens full, queens full, any flush. So many more hands beat you than you beat, is he really gonna value bet AJ or A10 in that spot? Jesus christ I thought all the players were supposed to be better than your typical cash game player at your local casino, fuck off david eldridge.

  4. I was curious about the bracelet bet. I stopped checking when I saw Eli won a bracelet in a stud event in 2015.
